Racing.com is innovative by investing in Linius technology

Following an impressive 12 months of significant fan engagement numbers delivered by Racing.com’s (beta) Replay Hub powered by Linius, the multi-platform media company has further extended its use of, and investment into the Linius technology. The Racing.com team has leveraged the Linius tech to develop new product features and enhance its digital content offering to punters, ensuring that it is front and center stage for their biggest event of the year, the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival.

Racing.com has embraced the customization & flexibility that the Linius tech provides by truly harnessing the power of data-driven assembly of video, that has proven to drive value for its customers, and create new commercialization opportunities.

Replay Hub

ReplayHub

The Replay Hub is a key component of the Racing.com digital platform, as a destination where users can watch curated playlists, including race previews, Blackbookers, Raceday Reviews and other featured video content that is updated on a daily basis.

It also provides punters with a valuable research interface, used to help inform their betting decisions by allowing Racing.com’s extensive archive of race & trial replays to be freely searched by horse, track and other form guide data filters.

Tipping Hub

The Tipping Hub is a destination where the Racing.com Form Analysts publish tips, form analysis and suggested bets for punters. The latest updates to the website & mobile app now mean instant ‘last start’ replays with infographic bumpers for selected horses that can be watched, back-to-back, at the click of a button.

The core ‘Field and Form’ areas of Racing.com’s website and app have also been developed further using Linius technology to integrate ‘runner-by-runner’ videos for each race and video previews/analysis for feature races.

“Dynamic data-driven videos created using the race fields, expert tips and horses to follow are a game-changer, as punters will no longer have to search for individual race replays to help inform their decision making,” said Mr Hill.

Editorial Suite

Racing.com’s digital media team, which publish fresh racing content each day, now have access to enhanced production software, with the Linius-powered Editorial Suite, making it easy to instantly splice and assemble new video content using racing vision, interviews, program highlights and any other content produced by the broadcast team. Quick curation of branded videos & playlists delivers more content in near real time, that can be pushed out into news articles and other digital channels, which in turn helps drive greater entertainment and engagement for fans and punters.

The Racing.com team now interacts with their video catalogue in a fashion that companies interact with data, leading to several pioneering solutions for their internal operations and content curation workflows.

Matt Hill said “We still have lots more to do and we are excited about the future possibilities with Linius and our product roadmap, particularly with the innovation and improved  experience that we can bring to digital customers and partners, centered around our racing vision”.

Chris Richardson, CEO Linius said “it’s a great example of a multi-platform media company really taking advantage of our tech and continuing to invest in new solutions for deeper integration into their platform. To be a progressive media business today, you must be using data driven assembly and Racing.com have been one of the first video content providers globally to embrace that”.

Racing.com has launched their new digital product features in time for the record audience numbers expected over the Spring Racing Carnival.

All applications of the Linius technology are now available to users on the Racing.com website and the Racing.com iOS/Android mobile app.
